Who said this is beauty?
How do we know if a girl is pretty or not? Who said this is beauty? Why are we all following the same standards, believing that we should all look alike to be considered beautiful?
I always ask myself, why can’t we accept our natural skin and hair?
Social media and society have placed filters over our eyes. So many of us struggle to accept ourselves in the mirror. So many painful comments. So many hurt people. Somewhere along the way, we started to believe we weren’t enough.
But God made us the way we are. Why do we want to change that? This is how we become closer to ourselves, to our truth, to our reality.
Beauty isn’t one thing. Beauty is you being exactly who you are. It’s seeing yourself age with grace, holding on to your natural features without apology.
Let’s not keep moving this time. Let’s pause. Let’s look around and truly see the beauty.
Beauty in your natural, freezy hair. In your healthy skin. In the unique features that no one else in the world has but you.
Never let anyone else decide your beauty.
