What’s gone is gone.
Life continues. Whether we are sad, happy, excited, tired, or completely exhausted, life keeps moving. It doesn’t wait for us to catch our breath. It doesn’t pause for us to figure things out. It moves, with or without our approval.
It may sound cliché, but if you pause and look at your life one year ago, really look, you’ll notice how much has changed. The people. The places. The feelings you thought would last forever. All of it shifts, sometimes so quietly you don’t realize it until much later.
We take everything so seriously. It’s almost like it’s built into our system. We want to stop the rollercoaster when it gets too fast. We want to start over when we feel lost. Sometimes, we wish we could replay the moments we didn’t appreciate enough. But the truth is simple. What’s gone is gone. Say it out loud. Repeat it in your mind. What’s gone is gone.
Life teaches us to let go, whether we’re ready or not. The past doesn’t need our permission to stay behind. So instead of clinging, maybe we can just ride the rollercoaster. Feel the highs, survive the lows, but most importantly, keep moving.
Because life will, anyway.
