I’m Growing, But It Hurts
No one tells you that growth can feel like grief. That becoming someone new means slowly letting go of who you used to be.That healing feels good, but also heavy.Because the truth is, growth isn’t always beautiful. Sometimes it’s lonely. Sometimes it’s confusing. And sometimes it just hurts.
I’m growing, but I miss the old version of me. The one who didn’t overthink. The one who didn’t know better. The one who didn’t carry so much.I’m proud of the woman I’m becoming, but I won’t pretend it’s easy. Some days I feel strong. Other days, I just want to rest in the comfort of what I’ve already outgrown.
No one claps for the quiet moments. The ones where you choose to stay calm instead of react. The ones where you walk away instead of argue. The ones where you cry in silence instead of explain yourself for the hundredth time.
This is the part no one talks about. The in-between. The ache of leveling up. The invisible battle between who you were and who you’re becoming.
But I’m learning to trust it. To not rush it. To sit with the pain of shedding layers that no longer serve me.
Growth isn’t loud. It’s not always exciting. But it’s real. And even when it hurts, I know I’m on my way to something better.
